This edition of the explanatory dictionary of the Russian language by the outstanding lexicographer S.I. Ozhegov dates back to the 4th edition, which was published in the author's edition. Corrections have been made to it, mainly related to the changes in social and political life reflected in the language that have occurred over the past 50 years. The dictionary contains vocabulary that is actively used in various areas of the Russian language. The dictionary entry includes the interpretation of the word, examples of its use in speech, reveals its phraseological and word-formation possibilities. The book contains information about the correct literary use of words: stress is indicated and, in difficult cases, pronunciation, grammatical forms, and stylistic characteristics are given. The dictionary is intended for the widest range of readers.
