The first novel by one of the most interesting writers of the last call. As in the debut "Gopniks", the main characters of the "School" are the bad guys of the Russian hinterland, asocial teenagers thrown to the side of life not only by their place of birth (the provincial city of Mogilev on the border of Russia and Belarus), but also by the cruel time of the collapse of the once great country, social infrastructure, the time when the state refused to be responsible for its citizens. However, the novel “School” is not only social criticism, but also a bright story of first love, a brilliant picture of the formation of an abandoned generation, where youthful romanticism stands behind cruelty, and an abyss of metaphysical horror flickers behind the holidays that occur at such an age. In the new book, the author's style finally took shape.
