“The Life and Adventures of an Eccentric” is a unifying title for two practically independent and independent stories: “A Notebook with Photos” and “The Marriage of Uncle Shura”.
Both parts feature one main character, a sixth-grader Boris Zbanduto, a frolic and a merry fellow who has to solve important problems and, despite his disorganization and eccentric nature, he copes with this perfectly. He doesn’t care about these kids, and he agreed to such work with only one purpose - to appear in a favorable light in the eyes of the girl he liked. But seeing how the kids were drawn to him, he was drawn into communication with them and already "could not live without his subordinates." Borka made many mistakes in his educational activities, but all with good intentions.
And the second story touches on a very serious topic. A difficult family relationship between an 8-year-old girl and her stepmother. Borka, with his inherent courage, rushes into this pool and tries to establish a quiet life in the family of his former sponsored first-grader, and now a neighbor and girlfriend of Natasha Morozova.
The book will be of interest to children of middle school age, the same age as the protagonist. And although there are many funny moments in the book, it will be difficult for elementary school students to grasp the whole meaning of the philosophical sayings of the famous aunt Olya, who is so often quoted by the main character. By the way, the whole story is told from Borka's point of view.
