While chasing Count Olaf, the kids end up at the Caligari Carnival, where they become carnival freaks. Slippery slope. The Baudelaires are brought before the Supreme Court on murder charges. End! The story of the Baudelaires is coming to an end. But, as in the previous books in the series, the answers to some questions entail new questions, and the history of the Baudelaires cannot be ended.
