The two-volume dictionary, first published at the beginning of the 20th century, offers the reader a complete set of Russian phraseology, not presented in such a volume in any other dictionary of the Russian language. The dictionary includes about eleven and a half thousand dictionary entries, and in general it includes more than 30,000 Russian phraseological units, winged words, etiquette formulas and cultural topics. Almost all articles contain parallel units from the main European languages ​​(English, French, German, Italian, Spanish), ancient languages ​​(Greek, Latin), as well as from Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew and even Chinese.
The dictionary is published as a reprint , at the same time it is supplied (for the first time) with a scientific commentary and a preface written by a well-known specialist in Russian phraseology V.M. Mokienko. Comment
