For Joanna, her husband Walter and their children, moving to picturesque Stepford is an experience too miraculous to be true. All women here are ideal wives and mothers who devote themselves entirely to the family and household chores. And while they bring life to perfection, their husbands gather every evening in the mysterious Association of Men. Joanna's surprise knows no bounds when she learns from old newspapers that there used to be a Women's Club in Stepford, and most of the local housewives were its activists and shared feminist views.
