The Exhumation is an excellent psychological thriller by one of the brightest representatives of contemporary British prose. The novel, written by Toby Litt in 2000, became a bestseller in the UK and many other countries.

The protagonist of the book, Conrad, is attacked by a hitman while meeting his model friend Lily in a fashionable London restaurant. Lily dies, Konrad himself is in a coma. As soon as his strength returns to him, he, with the skill of a seasoned detective, begins his own investigation. The banal expression "dirty laundry" cannot be compared with those layers of cemetery dirt that Conrad digs up.
