1908-1910

41.5 x 26.5 cm.

The author is Jean Geiser (1848 - 1923), a Swiss photographer who lived in Algeria, where he had his own photographic studio.

The cruiser was laid down on December 9, 1899 in Stettin.

After a combat training course, he was sent to the Far East as part of the Cruiser Detachment of the Pacific Ocean Squadron based in Vladivostok. As part of this detachment, he met the Russian-Japanese war.
The Bogatyr, along with other ships, managed to go to sea only a few times, after which in May 1904, in fog, it ran into stones and received serious damage.< /p>

In 1906, the cruiser was transferred to the Baltic. From 1907 to 1909 the cruiser sailed in the Mediterranean. Participated in the rescue of the inhabitants of Italian Messina after the earthquake in December 1908. The cruiser was awarded a large silver medal.

During World War I, Bogatyr operated in the Baltic Sea. Participated in the famous Ice Campaign of the Baltic Fleet.

Since May 1918, the ship has been in storage at the port of Kronstadt. In July 1922, sold for scrap to Germany.
