Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov (1899-1977) - Russian writer, a prominent representative of the first wave of the Russian Diaspora, who after moving to the USA (1940) wrote in English. Nabokov's writings over half a century of creativity - stories, novels, novellas, plays, essays, studies, literary translations - amounted, figuratively speaking, to a whole continent. Readers of our country discovered this absolutely amazing - in terms of language, style, range of feelings, subtlety of perception of the surrounding world, system of images, way of thinking and the ability to penetrate into someone else's "I" - an incomparable continent relatively recently.
One of my favorite Nabokov's theme is the theme of the young man's entry into life, his "growing" into the complex interweaving of good and evil, love and hate, sincerity and falsehood, the beautiful clarity of the sky and the furious power of the earth. This theme in Nabokov organically connects with the theme of Russia - the lost homeland and accompanies both the author and his heroes throughout their lives. This theme has become central in this book, which opens the Blue and Green series. The series is intended for young people.
