The Secret Doctrine, the main work of H. P. Blavatsky, was published in 1888 and, together with Isis Unveiled, became the main presentation of her teachings and the truths she affirmed. In the preface to her work, H. P. Blavatsky wrote: “These truths are in no way presented as revelation, nor does the author claim to be the exposer of mystical knowledge being made public for the first time in the history of the world. For what is contained in this work can be found scattered in thousands of volumes containing the writings of the great Asiatic and early European religions, hidden in glyphs and symbols and, by virtue of this veil, hitherto neglected. An attempt is now being made to gather together the most ancient foundations and make of them one harmonious and inseparable whole." This whole is the “Secret Doctrine” of Helena Blavatsky, which reveals the unified essence of all sciences, religions and philosophies.
