The book of the famous French film critic Georges Sadoul, "The Life of Charlie", offered to the attention of readers, is a new, supplemented and partially revised version of the publication published in the USSR in 1955 and less than a year later became a bibliographic rarity.
In this new edition, the author brings his story of Charlie Chaplin's life to the present day and analyzes two of his last films, Limblight and The King in New York. Thus, the book by J. Sadoul is now one of the most complete (at the time of publication) foreign studies covering the life and work of Charlie Chaplin. Fortunately for cinematography, this life turned out to be long, and creative works are numerous.
