Isaac Dunayevsky created his own style of a great era. The composer entered the history of the state he served forever. So much laughter and music, as sounded in the films of G. Alexandrov `Merry Fellows`, `Circus`, `Volga-Volga`, `Spring`, was never in the history of Soviet cinematography. But the composer was not only the king of marches and waltzes, but also a man of difficult fate. This book tells about the life and death of Isaac Dunayevsky. It uses little-known archival materials, letters, truthfully and without embellishment recreating the history of a person and a country, when black-and-white cinema became the light and shadow of the red state.
