The remarkable Russian artist Yuri Pavlovich Annenkov (1889-1974) lived the last half century of his life abroad, in France. The book “Diary of My Meetings” is a memoir about outstanding figures of Russian culture, with many of whom the author was friends. On the pages of the "Diary" appear, captured by the artist's keen eye: Maxim Gorky, Alexander Blok, Nikolai Gumilyov, Anna Akhmatova, Velimir Khlebnikov, Sergei Yesenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Alexei Remizov, Sergei Prokofiev, Evgeniy Zamyatin, Boris Pilnyak, Isaac Babel, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Ilya Repin, Georgy Ivanov, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Vsevolod Pudovkin, Nikolai Evreinov, Alexei Tolstoy, Boris Pasternak, Alexander Benois, Mikhail Larionov, Natalia Goncharova, Sergei Makovsky, Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin, Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky - all of them Yuri Annenkov met: he was friends with someone, he quarreled with someone, he had no relationship with someone, but he painted everyone.
