`On the banks of the Neva` - a story about Pushkin's life in St. Petersburg after graduating from the Lyceum and before his exile to the south (1817-1820). Having made friends with members of the Secret Society - the future Decembrists - a recent lyceum student became a political writer. Pushkin was seen everywhere: at meetings of young freethinkers, in the theater, in social and literary salons, at balls. He eagerly absorbed new impressions, made numerous acquaintances and wrote. His poems against the government were distributed throughout Russia. He was not forgiven for this. This and many other things are described in the book `On the banks of the Neva`. It describes St. Petersburg in the 1910s and Pushkin's places in Leningrad, associated with the poet's youth. The book `On the banks of the Neva` is the second part of M. Vasina's trilogy about Pushkin. The first and third parts - `City of the poet` and `Where Mikhailovskie groves rustle`.
