Juan Eslava Galan is a famous Spanish writer, historian, author of almost six dozen books awarded with the most honorable literary prizes. The action of the novel "In Search of the Unicorn" takes place in the 15th century in Castile. King Enrique IV, nicknamed the Impotent, equips a detachment to carry out an extremely dangerous task: it is necessary to obtain the horn of a rare animal - a unicorn to make a potion that supposedly helps with male impotence. According to scientific books, if you can find a unicorn anywhere, it is only in distant and unknown Africa, in the lands of black people. The young hidalgo Juan de Olid, together with the detachment entrusted to him, heads there - first by ship, then on camels through the desert, and then on foot through the impenetrable jungle. However, the journey turns out to be much more difficult than expected and drags on for many years, during which the Spaniards saw many wonders, experienced exciting adventures and learned how a variety of African tribes live.
