There is probably only one answer. It is as follows: a person always strives for God. The normal state of a person is, to one degree or another, to be connected with the Highest, with the Ideal.
Even when this ideal in the mind of a person is distorted, depleted. Even when it is turned into something secular at all.
And yet, the era of Stalinism, Mao Tseduism and other "isms" - showed that a person from whom God is forcibly taken away - still strives for a pseudo-God. He replaces true faith with idolatry, and still the instinct of striving for God is preserved. But things look quite different when we pose the question: Why Christianity? Holy books?
