In this edition, readers are presented with a translation of the famous poem by Nonna from Khmim "Paraphrase of the Holy Gospel of John" ("Acts of Jesus"). The poetic retelling of the Gospel of the Apostle John in the language of Homer is the only Christian "epos" of its kind (more than 3,600 stanzas!). The poem was not an apocrypha - it was read in the monasteries and temples of the East.

The first Russian translation of the "Acts of Jesus" was published only at the beginning of the 21st century. In this edition, "Paraphrase" is published with a parallel text of the Gospel of John: the simplicity of the narration of John the Theologian harmoniously combines with the beauty and elegance of Nonna's exquisite poetry.
