There are exotic notes with all sorts of poisons in the plot, this is what Dontsova differs in - she knows how to twist the plot, but the criminal can always be figured out. She makes her heroines (and hero) somehow stupid, because they don’t know about some elementary things. Another presentation style: a lot of synonyms (this is generally not bad, but when there are a lot of them, it looks unnatural), a lot of obscene words, she represents people as either uncultured and illiterate, or cruel monsters. One thing is good - it's light and exciting reading.
