The "Notes from the House of the Dead", "Notes from the Underground", "Crime and Punishment", "The Idiot" and other masterpieces had already been written, but Dostoevsky still experienced a keen sense of dissatisfaction and, by his own admission, was only getting close to the main to his work. In 1871-1872, his sixth novel was published with the defiant and symbolic title "Demons". Fascinating drama, captivating plot, raging passions and extraordinary, wild events "under a glass jar" of a provincial town - this is one of the greatest works of not only Russian, but also world literature.
