The collection of historical novels written by the author in 1928-1954 includes three works widely known to the Soviet reader.
THE TALE ABOUT BOLOTNIKOV depicts a romantic story of the leader of the first peasant war in Russia, his wanderings in foreign lands and the stubborn struggle of Russian serfs against the boyars and nobility - the height of a popular movement that swept almost the entire country.
The story THE WORKS AND DAYS OF MIKHAIL LOMONOSOV is dedicated to the first steps of Russian science, personified by its brilliant representative Lomonosov, who, under the conditions of feudal-serfdom reality, foreign dominance in the Academy and the influence of ignorant favorites, devoted his whole life to the fight against "the enemies of Russian sciences".
The story CHILDREN OF GOOD HOPE shows thin, invisible threads that connected the best people of the era - Admiral F.F. Ushakov and A.N. Radishchev, who was distantly related to him.
