"The Tale of the Truly People's Inspector" is the first book in A. Kurkov's fantastic trilogy "Geography of a Single Shot". The hero of the novel, Pavel Dobrynin, was a wayward man, like electricity, but surprisingly absolutely honest. That is why they elected him at the general collective farm meeting "the perpetual labor inspector of everything in the Soviet country." And the people's controller went through the vast expanses, meeting unusual personalities on his way: Vaplakhov the urka-emets, Kuzma the parrot reciter, the deserter angel from Paradise and many others. The angel did not just walk around the world, but was looking for a righteous man who would be killed by his bullet, and then all wars and outrages would stop on earth. In the holistic world of the novel, many bright historical and anti-historical heroes coexist, much in the novel filled with adventures, black and light humor, fantasy and riddles, will seem painfully and laughter familiar to the reader.
