Generalized information about medicinal plants and their modern use is provided. About 200 species used in medical and veterinary practice have been described. The basic rules for the collection, procurement and storage of medicinal plants are outlined, as well as the modern requirements of the state all-Union standard for the acceptance of medicinal raw materials. Acceptable methods for collecting medicinal plants aimed at preserving natural resources are indicated.
