The work of the troubadours, minnesingers and vagantes, although it does not exhaust the entire wealth of European lyrics of the Middle Ages, nevertheless gives a clear idea of ​​the flowering that came in the lyric poetry of Europe in the 12th-13th centuries.
Leaving classical antiquity aside, this was the first great flowering of European lyricism, followed in its time by an even more powerful flowering born of the Renaissance. But after all, Renaissance poetry was connected by many threads with the progressive literary searches of the previous centuries. This should not be forgotten.
