Art album about Uglich, one of the most ancient cities of the Upper Volga. Excellent edition - color illustrations, coated paper. Printed in the printing house "Kossuth" in Hungary. In a colorful cardboard case. Comments in Russian and English.
Uglich is one of the pearls of the Golden Ring of Russian cities.
Different periods of Russian history left their monuments in Uglich. Among them are such masterpieces of ancient Russian architecture as the Chamber of the Palace of Appanage Princes, the three-hipped Dormition (“Dvinaya”) Church, and the ensemble of the Resurrection Monastery.
Uglich is a monument of the history and culture of Russia: each era added the names of people whose fates are somehow connected with the fate of the city and the history of Russia itself - Ivan the Terrible, Boris Godunov, Tsarevich Dmitry.
In modern Uglich, the present day and gray-haired antiquity coexist, but as before, beautiful monuments of architecture and art remain the main difference of the ancient city. This album is dedicated to them. The text for the section "Historical and Art Museum" was written by V.I. Erokhin.
