The art of Vasily Surikov is one of the pinnacles of Russian painting. He is characterized by the deepest spiritual connection with his homeland - Siberia, which largely determined the unique originality of his talent. This publication will tell a wide range of art lovers about this, based mainly on the facts of the artist’s biography related to the Yenisei province and Krasnoyarsk. The author refers not only to famous, but often to little-known and completely unknown works of Surikov. Basic information about them is given after the text. The album is illustrated with reproductions of the artist’s works from Krasnoyarsk museums, and 12 works are published for the first time.
