Jaan Kross (1920–2007) is a world famous Estonian classic. He was nominated several times for the Nobel Prize. Poet and prose writer. Many of the writer's works were translated into Russian and published in the USSR in huge editions, as one of the historical novels "The Imperial Madman" (1978, Russian text - 1985). The children's story-tale "March's bread" (1973, first in Russian - 1974) takes you to the Middle Ages.
