Few could have predicted that the punk rock whirlwind of the late seventies would produce two of the most prominent and most successful intellectuals in the history of pop music. The Rolex and its leader Sting have released a torrent of hit singles and albums that have enriched modern culture, and the musicians themselves have enriched themselves more than their wildest dreams could ever have imagined.

They conquered the world, and Sting, Gordon Sumner, the son of a simple milkman from Tyneside, became one of the richest people in the country. Although it has been a long time since The Police broke up, its influence is still huge and the band's music remains an integral part of rock culture.
