In his book, V.Yu. Shimanovsky summarized the experience of beekeepers in Russia and other countries, checking their methods at the apiary of the Boyar school (later - technical school) of beekeeping; systematized methods that allow and do not allow swarming, outlined the methods of working in various types of hives from boards, hollows, bottomless hives to modern Dadan-Blatt hives, described ways to improve working with them. Attaching great importance to the conditions of honey collection, the climatic features of the area, the degree of professional training of the beekeeper, the design of the hives, the author considered it important for the success of work in a particular area to choose the right method of farming.
