The author of the book, Honored Agronomist of the RSFSR E. G. Kuznetsova, has been growing strawberries on the Lenin state farm near Moscow for more than 40 years. This farm, where strawberry plantations occupy more than 130 hectares, is widely known for its high, sustainable berry yields. Much work is being done here to improve the quality of strawberries - increasing their sugar content, vitamin content, and ability for long-term storage.
