The Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve is one of the most interesting museums in the Moscow region. From 1843 to 1859, the famous Russian writer S.T. Aksakov lived and worked here. N.V. Gogol, I.S. Turgenev, M.S. Shchepkin and other prominent representatives of Russian culture often visited the estate. In 1870, the estate was acquired by S.I. Mamontov, the inspirer of the Abramtsevo art circle. The circle included artists I.E. Repin, V.D. Polenov, V.A. Serov, M.A. Vrubel, brothers V.M. and A.M. Vasnetsov. The authors give a broad description of the stages of the history of the estate, the life and creativity of the inhabitants and guests of Abramtsevo.
The book contains 130 color and tone illustrations. It is of interest to a wide range of readers.
