The collection presents the results organized by the Foundation. Stefan Batory (Poland) of the international survey of obtaining Schengen visas by citizens of the post-Soviet countries. It was held in Moscow, Kyiv, Minsk and Chisinau and covered eight embassies of the Schengen countries and the British Embassy. In the course of this survey, in October-December 2008, citizens were interviewed in queues for obtaining visas at the respective consulates. The Carnegie Moscow Center, acting as the coordinator of the survey in Russia, added to the standard program a series of interviews with heads of consular services to present their view of the situation, vision of problems and prospects for their resolution.
