The 2nd edition, revised and supplemented by a small encyclopedia, will acquaint readers with the latest achievements of the rapidly developing space sciences. The articles of the encyclopedia describe the most important cosmic processes in the solar system, on stars, in star systems and in the universe as a whole; the most significant results of space exploration with the help of spacecraft are given. The need to take into account the achievements of astrophysics and related sciences over the ten years that have passed since the publication of the first edition required the inclusion of new articles and the rewriting of the vast majority of the articles of the first edition, so the second edition is, in essence, a new book. The encyclopedia is intended for students, teachers of physics and astronomy, lecturers, as well as specialists in the field of related sciences as a source of the latest data on space.
