The author of this book is one of the oldest workers in the Soviet book publishing business, a man who devoted much of his experience and all his spiritual energy to the art of the book. Alyansky is also known as the organizer of the Alkonost publishing house, with the stamp of which Blok's illustrated poem "The Twelve" was first published in 1918.
