The book offered to the reader by the outstanding Russian philologist, ethnographer and literary critic M.N. Based on the extensive material of ancient manuscripts, the mutual enrichment of the literatures of the Slavic peoples in the process of their centuries-old communication is considered. The author, on the one hand, demonstrates the connection of the Russian "solemn" style with its South Slavic and Byzantine samples, reveals the Polish sources of "Scythian History" by A. Lyzlov, studies the handwritten Belarusian-Latin-Polish dictionary of the 17th century, which was a model for " Trilingual Lexicon" by F. Polikarpov. On the other hand, he shows that the works of Russian literature from early times were continuously translated into Serbian and Bulgarian, and the Russian manuscripts of the "Historical Palea", apocryphal legends ("The Life of Moses") and historical stories (the story of the capture of Constantinople by the Turks in the "Scythian stories" by A. Lyzlov) became a source of similar Serbian and Bulgarian works. The book is recommended to specialists in Slavic philology and philologists of other specialties, historians, as well as students and graduate students of philological faculties of universities.
