Mary Stuart is one of the most widely read writers in the UK today. On her account - more than 30 novels and stories of love, detective and historical genres. All of them are characterized by the sharpness of the plot, the unexpectedness and complexity of the intrigue, the richness of the characteristics of the characters and the impeccable style. Mary Stewart (lady Mary Florence Elinor Stewart, née Rainbow) was born September 17, 1916. Her father was a vicar. After leaving school, she decides to devote herself to history and literature and in 1939 she graduated from Durham University with a degree in teaching English. From 1941-1945 she taught at the same Durham University where she met her husband, Professor of Geology Frederick Henry Stewart. In 1945 they got married. In 1956, Frederick Stuart took a teaching position in Edinburgh and moved there with his wife. The Stuarts traveled a lot, which gave Mary material for several novels that take place abroad: in France, Greece, and other countries. Frederik passed away in 2001. Until the end of her life, Mary Stuart lived in Edinburgh. Mary Stuart's writing career began in 1954. At her husband's insistence, Mary sent the manuscript of her first novel, Madame, Will You Speak?, to the publisher, which was published in 1954. The book immediately attracted attention to the young author. By the beginning of the 70s, the writer had more than a dozen novels (almost all of them became bestsellers), books for children, several scripts for radio shows. And suddenly - a sharp turn. Mary Stuart addresses the ancient history of Britain. She creates a trilogy about the legendary Merlin and King Arthur. The writer spoke of her idea in the following way: “So little is known about Britain in the 5th century AD that one has to be guided not so much by facts as by legends and one’s own conclusions ... It is a fascinating pastime to comprehend these sometimes wild and illogical plots, to give them the character of more or less coherent and believable tales of human action and the world of the imagination." But to fit the whole story of Merlin and Arthur, the trilogy was not enough, and Mary Stuart writes two more novels on this topic ("The Day of Wrath" and "The Prince and the Pilgrim"). Content: Volume 1. Thunder is heard from the right. My Brother Michael: Novels (About a mysterious story that happened in a monastery in the Pyrenees, and about the dangerous adventures of a young Englishwoman). Volume 2. Shall we talk, madam? Bonfire in the Night: Novels. Volume 3. Nine carriages. Pink Cottage: Novels. Volume 4. Lunar spins. Terrible Enchantment: Novels. Volume 5. Melody above the ground. Hounds of Gabriel: Novels. Volume 6. Don't touch the cat. Thornyhold: Novels. Volume 7. Ivy-covered tree. Little storm-petrel: Novels. Volume 8. Trilogy about Merlin. Book. 1: Crystal Grotto: A novel. Volume 9. Trilogy about Merlin. Book. 2: The Hollow Hills: A Novel. Volume 10. Trilogy about Merlin. Book. 3: The Last Magic: A Novel. Volume 11. Faded Day: A Novel. Volume 12. The Prince and the Pilgrim: A Novel. Appendix: Monmouth G. History of the Britons.
