Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn (born 1918) is an outstanding Russian writer, Nobel Prize winner. His first work, "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich", published in 1962, brought him worldwide fame. In 1974, after the release of his famous book The Gulag Archipelago in the West, Solzhenitsyn was deprived of Soviet citizenship and forcibly expelled from the USSR. From the 76th he lived in the USA; in 1994, after the return of Russian citizenship, he returned to his homeland. The seventh volume is the first of two volumes of journalism that is part of this Collected Works, it presents in chronological order the most significant speeches of the writer both in the USSR (1967-1974) and in the West (1974-1989). The reader will find in this volume a wide variety of journalistic genres: articles, speeches, open letters, conversations, appeals, newspaper, magazine, television and radio interviews.
