Anyone who opens a book, magazine, newspaper or turns on a computer in order to search for the information he needs, is influenced by what he read, seeks to "digest" it, comprehend, assimilate, extract some information and conclusions from it. Reading is a necessary component of developing one's own worldview, worldview. Human thought is boundless, so many clever and interesting thoughts have been expressed that it is simply impossible to put them together. But it is really possible to make a selection of statements based on certain criteria and points. In this case, there is no need to specifically refer to the already existing collections of aphorisms and "winged words". The list of such expressions accumulates, as if by itself, when reading books and articles, newspapers and magazines, and so on. One or another interesting statement can be found when browsing the Internet, or heard in a radio program, etc. You just need to write down such a statement, along with the name and surname of its author, which attracted your attention, accumulate these extracts, and then try to systematize them . Of course, nothing whole will be created in this case, there will be quite a lot of extracts on one topic, on another - only a few will come across, on many important subjects in general you can not find short and capacious statements. Not in this case. It is important to simply accumulate a certain amount of them, and then this material will "play". It does not matter who expressed this thought, wrote or said these words. It could be an ancient or medieval philosopher, an oriental sage, a poet or writer, a politician, a military man, an artist, an artist, a scientist or artist, a historian, an economist, a journalist, in a word, a person of any profession who lived centuries ago, or more recently, our contemporary. However, this should be noted. The compiler deliberately excluded any statements by the authors who are carriers of inhumane views and positions hostile to man, in principle or because of their nationalist sentiments and practices, judgments of figures who have gone down in history as representatives, especially even leaders of terrorism, militarism and totalitarianism, in any its manifestation. Turning to the factors that played a role in choosing a particular phrase, point of view or reasoning, it should be borne in mind that, first of all, the clarity and conciseness of assessments that reveal the position of the authors of these statements, the criteria for approaching a particular topic, are important. However, it is not the brevity of the wording that is of decisive importance, but its depth, comprehensiveness, content and civic position of this person. For inclusion in the collection of quotes, in the opinion of the compiler, it did not matter at all that they corresponded to his personal views, ideas, and finally, the profession and the specific topic that he dealt with - the history of the Comintern. Often different people gave coinciding descriptions of the state of the compiler when he was working on books on the history of the Comintern. At the same time, there was a feeling that this or that phrase does not belong to this author, but, as it were, was dictated to him by someone who is much higher than him and can evaluate any event from a cosmic position. For the compiler, it was of decisive importance that the statement he encountered "hooked him." Sometimes, while reading a boring text, you internally doze, and suddenly you meet something unexpected - completeness, paradoxical thought, clarity of the thesis or formulation, a "fresh look" at a long-known problem. Regardless of the context, such a statement was recorded and considered as material that should have been included in the collection. Among them came across statements both on "eternal" problems and truths, and on momentary issues, which, in essence, can also turn out to be very important. Especially if these phrases turned out to be close to the worldview, the worldview of the compiler of the collection. But this was by no means perceived as the reason for their inclusion in the collection. The decisive moment was that they contained, in the opinion of the compiler, relevant today and profound formulations. These statements were collected by a historian who sought to accumulate together the most significant texts that characterize the main moments in a person's life. Inevitably, the subjective views of the author (including his by no means young age) affected the selection of material. The compiler for himself called such a phenomenon as "The Eyes of Wisdom" or "The Wisdom of a Short Phrase". At the end of statements, only the name and surname of their authors were recorded. The collected statements, reflections, when included in the text of the collection, were "broken" into separate headings according to their nature. The headings were not created in advance, but were formulated later, in the process of entering the extracts into the computer, during their rereading and analysis. They are conditional, since often the same statement should have been placed in different headings. In the headings, the materials were placed in the sequence determined by the first letters of the author's surname or the name of the source. When a significant number of such statements were collected, the compiler of the future collection came to the conclusion that for some concepts one should familiarize oneself with the statements posted on the relevant Internet sites, which was done, and the results of this search were reflected in the headings of the collection.
