The purpose of the collection is to approve and popularize the role of the Russian province on the material of the Siberian province, as well as its capital, Tobolsk, in the history of the Russian state of the 16th-20th centuries. The collection of scientific articles “Province in Russian Culture” is published in the “Book and Literature” series published by the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts of the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Department of Ancient Literature and Literary Source Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of Novosibirsk State University. The purpose of the collection is to establish and popularize the role of the Russian province on the material of the Siberian province, as well as its capital, Tobolsk, in the history of the Russian state of the 16th-20th centuries. Geographically, the largest Russian province - Siberia - extends from west to east from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean, and from north to south - from the Arctic Ocean to the steppe expanses of Central Asia. The articles in the collection reflect a striking cultural feature of this vast region of Russia - the entire territory of Siberia is a meeting place for a wide variety of cultures, Siberia is the territory of a "dialogue of cultures". One of the main themes of the collection is the preservation, study, popularization and perpetuation of the richest, multinational cultural heritage of Siberia.
