More info

Ekaterina Romanovna Dashkova is one of the outstanding public figures of Russia in the second half of the 18th century. She was the founder of the Russian Academy - this is already enough to forever inscribe her name in the history of Russian culture. But she was both a philologist and a writer. Her "Notes" is an interesting example of Russian memoir literature of the late 18th - early 19th centuries.
