The Almanac has been published since 2007 as an annual publication of the Writers' Union of Russia. The book opens with two reports by eyewitness writers from Chelyabinsk about the fall of a meteorite into Lake Chebarkul: as a reminder of the frailty of everything that exists and the importance of understanding one's mission in this fragile universe. The almanac "Literature 2013" presents poetic selections of 30 poets of different directions. Together with prose, we can see a cut of the big tree of our modern literature. As in previous almanacs, we turn to the history of literature: materials for the anniversaries of Derzhavin, Batyushkov, Lermontov, Mayakovsky and, traditionally, we write about Gumilyov and Blok, the forerunners of our creative union. In the prose of Ilya Ogandzhanov, the poetic nerve is felt differently than in his poems, and the poems of Tatyana Grauz and Evgeny Stepanov, Maria and Alexandra Mironov, Elena Katsyuba and Natalya Vankhanen, Nikolai Gritsanchuk and Tatyana Patsaeva, Evgeny V. Kharitonov and Arkady Agapkin, Maxim Zhukov and Lyudmila Serova, Tatyana Kaisarova and Mikhail Nikolaev, as well as other poets presented in the almanac, did not leave the subtle and thoughtful reader indifferent before. Prose writers add their own nuances to the architectonics of the almanac: here are the army “weepings” of Yevgeny Nadalinsky and Sergei Mohammed, and a picture from the childhood of Alexander Ivashchenko, and memories from the youth of Joseph Rabinovich and Vladimir Glyants, and the “theatrical roll call” of Rimma Vecherina, Tatyana Gorokhova and Nikolai Kalinichenko are woven into the polyphony of the poetic basis. The section "Names and Symbols of Epochs" presents three heroes of the day: K. Kedrov, D. Tseselchuk and N. Rozhkova. In the “Counterpoints of History” section, Natalya Gabrielyan finishes her memoirs about Alexander Men; Olga Sokolovskaya tells about the fate of Olga Konstantinovna, Queen of Greece; Lilia Volokhonskaya tells how, unlike her cousin Henri, she preferred Russia to Germany, and Nina Davydova, a Muscovite scholar, in the section “Family Reading” invites you on a date with the city, spread over “seven hills”. “From the unpublished” we learn, “at the suggestion” of the artist and art critic Alexander Lozovy, about WOLFIL according to the memoirs of his father. In "Publicistika" Fyodor Shelov-Kovedyaev and Sergey Alimarin plunge us headlong into the contexts of world development. And polemical duelists Artyom Kaverin and Sergey Chekmaev with Denis Pozdnyakov are involved in a discussion about the “end of the world” in modern book publishing. The book also includes sections: "Debut", "Workshop", "Reviews", "Dialogue of Cultures", "Serious Pages", "Memoria", "Journey of a Writer", "Chronicle of a Creative Life". The almanac crowns the section "Anthology of one poem"
