The book `The Mystery of Time` consists of three parts: `Albion`, `Return to the River`, `Russian London`. Six years of living in Great Britain in the seventies of the 20th century and frequent trips to this country in the eighties and nineties gave the author the opportunity to trace the development of the destinies of heroes and heroines. The combination of artistic and documentary forms, humor and philosophy, real and fictional people gives the book a unique stereoscopic quality. The first part was published in 1978 under the title “Albion and the Mystery of Time”, was published simultaneously in the USSR and England, and became a bestseller in both countries. “Return to the River” continues the book in new times, and “Russian London” tells about the unique people of the first wave of Russian emigration, with whom the author was lucky enough to meet and be friends in London: Solome Andronikova, Alexander Polyakov, Evgenia Mollo, Efim Shapiro. The updated "Albion" highlighted one of the main themes in the work of Larisa Vasilyeva - the image of fast-flowing and enduring, simple and complex, mysterious and open to everyone Time, where the past, present and future meet in eternity.
