The Museum contains the most representative collections of Ukrainian artistic art. This museum has more than 40 thousand different exhibits, including Ukrainian paintings, sculptures and graphics, created from the time of Kievan Rus to the present day. At the end of the 19th century, the Ukrainian intelligentsia founded this museum, which became the first secretly accessible museum in Kiev. The official opening of the National Art Museum of Ukraine took place on the 30th of April 1904.

The museum maintains one of the largest collections of iconography in Ukraine. Not intersecting with the meanings is the collection of Ukrainian baroque mysticism. The vision of the new hour also represents the absence of any important exhibits. The museum's collection will be renewed, its imagery in it will be recognized and new trends in painting from the end of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century.
