Pushkin's relationship with the Emperors during whose reign he lived is one of the most complex and least studied pages of Pushkin's biography. Moreover, in a number of cases, the study was conducted in such a way that already difficult issues became even more confusing, and the research results did not clarify the picture, but only obscured it.

The final chapter is devoted to the poet’s multifaceted relationship with Emperor Nicholas I.
