Leningrad scientist, Doctor of Philology, laureate of the USSR State Prize B. S. Meilakh is a well-known specialist in the field of Pushkin studies. He is the author of the books: “Pushkin and Russian Romanticism”, “Pushkin and His Epoch”, “Pushkin’s Artistic Thinking”, etc. In this book, along with the study of complex problems of Pushkin studies, the scientist touches on a number of issues related to the biography of the great poet and his fate heritage, examines the significance of the Caucasian theme in the life and work of Pushkin, shares with readers the most valuable observations that prove the poet’s loyalty to the ideals of Decembrism.
