Henry Holorenshaw's book "The Levellers and the English Revolution" is devoted to one of the most interesting and relatively little studied problems in the history of England. English bourgeois historians, who have written many volumes on the "Puritan Revolution" and saw in it only the struggle of various religious movements and parties, either pass over in silence, or, leaving a few lines in their studies, misinterpret the meaning and significance of the most revolutionary, popular movement of this era, called Leveler. Therefore, the very fact that the English historian addresses this problem should attract the attention of the Soviet reader.
