More info

The Prince and the Pauper is the first and most famous historical work of Mark Twain, which has not lost its popularity since its first publication at the end of the 19th century. Prince Edward VI. They look like each other like two peas in a pod, and this striking resemblance leads them to a risky undertaking: Tom puts on the clothes of a prince, and the prince puts on the clothes of a beggar. Events are developing rapidly, and now the boys are taking each other's place. The new-found "prince" from the slums is now forced to settle into the court, cope with unusual responsibilities and complex duties. And a real prince, unexpectedly finding himself at the very bottom, must endure troubles and hardships, hunger and beatings, knowing the utter lack of rights of the poor. How will the heroes get out of these incredible trials, and what can they learn?
