In 1850, the Sovremennik magazine reproduced a selection of Tyutchev’s poems, once published by Pushkin, and published an article by N. Nekrasov, in which he ranked these poems among the brilliant phenomena of Russian poetry and put Tyutchev on a par with Pushkin and Lermontov. Four years later, 92 poems by Tyutchev were published in the supplement to Sovremennik, and then, on the initiative of I. Turgenev, his first collection of poetry was published. Tyutchev's fame was confirmed by many of his contemporaries - I. Turgenev, A. Fet, A. Druzhinin, S. Aksakov, A. Grigoriev... L. Tolstoy called Tyutchev "one of those unfortunate people who are immeasurably higher than the crowd among whom they live, and therefore always alone."... Tyutchev spent a significant part of his life (twenty-two years) abroad (of which twenty were in Munich). Masterpieces of his philosophical and political lyrics, the best poems about love and nature were created there. Tyutchev returned to Russia as an established poet. This edition includes all the most famous poems by F. I. Tyutchev. As an afterword, an article by Yu. Tynyanov “The Question of Tyutchev” is given.
