The author of the book is Ivan Shchegolikhin, a doctor by training. Printed since 1954. He published two novels, ten stories, short stories. A distinctive feature of the works of I. Shchegolikhin is a dynamic plot, tension and drama of the narration, the sharpness of posing moral and ethical problems.
The book tells about the fate of Vladimir Mikhailovich Zagorsky, a prominent figure in the Bolshevik Party. The reader goes through the whole path of a revolutionary - from a young rebel in Nizhny Novgorod to a convinced Bolshevik, secretary of the Moscow Committee of the RCP (b) in the most difficult year for the young Soviet Republic in 1919.
The meetings with V.I. Lepin described in the story and the work under his leadership had a huge impact on Zagorsky's spiritual appearance. The reader will see on the pages of the book such outstanding revolutionaries as Y.M. Sverdlov and F.E. Dzerzhinsky.
