In 1972, Nikolai Zadornov released his novel "Tsunami". The novel "Shimoda" continues the story of the heroic Russian sailors of Admiral Putyatin, who, after an unprecedented catastrophe and the death of a ship, ended up in a closed Japan that did not allow foreigners to enter (1854). Ambassador Admiral Putyatin concluded a treatise with Japan on friendship and trade between the two states. Numerous obstacles that the reactionary feudal lords placed in the development of Russo-Japanese relations were overcome. Russian sailors are building a new ship, an unprecedented in Japan rapprochement of the working people - carpenters, peasants - with the working people of Russia is taking place. Many exciting and romantic meetings took place in those years in the Japanese village of Heda, where a museum of Soviet-Japanese friendship has now been created in memory of Admiral Putyatin and Russian sailors. The novel takes place in 1855 during the Crimean War.
