Ayn Rand (1905–1982) - American novelist, essayist, philosopher. She was born and studied in St. Petersburg, and emigrated to the USA in 1926. A staunch opponent of communism, she defends the principles of individualism and extreme liberalism, which is precisely the position Ayn Rand considers truly humane and humane. Her philosophy is based on the principle of individual freedom. Ayn Rand comes out with an apology for capitalism, arguing that it is not only the most effective, but also the most honest way of society, which is based on human freedom of choice. Ayn Rand’s novels “Atlas Shrugged,” “We Are the Living,” and “The Source” have already been published in Russian. This book contains articles by Ayn Rand that reveal the essence of such current social phenomena as racism, fascism, war, the state, etc. Of particular interest are essays in which Ayn Rand uses her philosophical apparatus in relation to the theory of literature. All articles are published in Russian for the first time. The questions raised by the author are extremely relevant for today. The book is addressed to philosophers, political scientists, historians, philologists and anyone interested in a theoretical understanding of the problems of modern society.
